The DES-1018MPV2 is specifically designed to facilitate easy connections and supply of power to devices such as access points (AP) or IP cameras and phones. But that’s not all, connect other Ethernet devices such as computers, printers and NASs to unify all your devices under one efficient network ready for any application.
The DES-1018MPV2 comes with a PoE upgrade: PoE+. Featuring a hefty 247 watts power budget and up to 30 watts per port, users can connect 802.3af/at-compliant devices for a simple, power-cable free setup or in locations with no nearby power outlet.
The DES-1018MPV2 features two operating modes: Isolation or Extended mode, each with their own use cases. If both modes are deactivated, ports offer 10/100 Mbps PoE connectivity as standard, with ports 1 to 8 prioritized to optimize the port cache.
Have a device more than 100m away? Extend mode facilitates long-range power delivery by enhancing ports 9 to 16 to supply power to devices up to 250m away.
Isolation mode prevents port-to-port communications, permitting ports 1-16 to communicate solely through uplink ports 17-18, where strengthened security measures are necessary.
The DES-1018MPV2 is equipped with 2 kV surge protection, keeping the switch safe against lightning strikes or other power related incidents. This shield will prevent PoE devices from damage, ensuring your mission-critical systems continue functioning uninterrupted.
To help balance the budget, the DES-1018MPV2 supports IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE). This feature detects network activity, automatically putting unused ports to sleep and powering them on as required.
The smart fan also automatically adjusts itself to reduce power consumption and noise when possible, so businesses can reinvest savings back into their business.
Simply connect the switch to the network to connect multiple computers, share files and make lag-free VoIP calls. Additional support for auto-MDI/MDI-X on all ports also eliminates the need for crossover cables when connecting to another switch or hub.
Autonegotiation empowers ports to detect the link speed of a connected network device (10 or 100 Mbps) and adjust accordingly for compatibility and optimal performance.
